Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive at Delhi Airport where you will be greeted and will be transferred to your pre booked hotel. Night stay is in Delhi
Day 2: Delhi – Kathgodam ( By Overnight Train 2235 / 0505 + 01 )
Full Day city tour of Delhi, be amazed with renovated Humayun’s tomb, longest bricket minar in the world – Qutub Minar, drive past to President’s house, martyr emblem India Gate. Then you will be driven to the past – known as Old Delhi. Here visit largest mosque as Jama Masjid and Red Fort.In the evening you will be transferred to Delhi Railway station to board your overnight train for Kathgodam. Night is on board.
Day 3: Arrive Kathgodam – Binsar ( By Drive 110 Km / 3.5 Hours )
Arrive at Kathgodam and then drive to Binsar. Binsar was once upon a time summer capital of Chand Dynasty. Later it was converted to wildlife sanctuary to look after the rice and diverse forests of the state. It is also famous for stunning Himalaya Views. In the evening enjoy local walk in the villages nearby with an excellent guide. Night stay is in Binsar.
Day 4: Binsar – Jogeshwar Temple – Binsar
Today you will have a guided on foot excursion till Jageshwar temples all the way through Himalayan villages. This is a long 20 km walk through pine forests, villages and valleys. Return would be done by a private vehicle which will take about one and half hour Night stay is in Binsar.
Day 5: Within Binsar Sanctuary
Today you will be enjoying rich flora and fauna of Binsar Sanctuary. Our professional guide will take you to walk within the Binsar Sactuary. These could be divided into two parts. One will be held in the morning and other in early evening.Binsar sanctuary offers countless occasions for walks and hikes from couple of kilometers to 10 kilometers. The walk goes through mixed forests of Oak, Rhododendrons, Wild Cherry and Pine. You can witness lots of natural bird life on these walks. Return back to your resortIn the early evening walk to some villages of Kumaon Himalayan rangesThere are a few Himalayan villages that offer an insight into the lives of the locals. Here you can see local architecture which is very similar to European country side with traditional houses made by using stacks of stones. The farming is mostly subsistence and done in terraces
Day 6: Binsar – Jhaltola
Drive to Jhaltola Village after breakfast. It is about 100km (3.5 hours drive).Jhaltola – Jhaltola is an offbeat Himalayan destination in Kumaon. It has some of the widest views of Himalayan peaks and an amazingly peaceful setting. Once upon a time, it was a tea estate and fruit orchard. Now it is an offbeat destination surrounded by thick oak forests and Himalayan villages. There are tens of walks, hikes and treks in and around Jhaltola. It is home to more than 150 species of birds, and a diverse flora and fauna. You can see the barking deer, wild pheasants, and if you are lucky even the leopard that lives in the vicinity.On arrival enjoy your hot lunch. Full day is for relaxation and to enjoy the views of Kumaon Himalayan Ranges. In the evening walk to sunset point to get the stunning views of sunsets at Himalayas (Pokhar). Return back to your resort for overnight stay.
Day 7: Jhaltola
Early morning enjoy birding tour with the hosts of the resort. Post breakfast, hike via lush green forest to Lamkeshwar temple and view point. This can be 3km or 7 km walk one way depending on the guest. Later enjoy picnic lunch and then walk down 4 km to nearby village to know how local art and their way of life.Walk back to the retreat around sunset. Evening is for leisure and rest.
Day 8: Guided Walk Options
Today we are offering you multiple options of guided walks within range of 5 to 15 km depending upon your competence of walking.Options would be as below:Work with NGO – An NGO working on alternative energy with electricity generated from Pine Needles 12 km one way. Pickup will be done by private cab back to the resortTrek to Ramganga River which is 14km downhill and 3 km uphill on way back. A Forty five minute drive plus a 1 hour trek will take you to a pristine snow fed river – Ramganga. En-route you would also see some of the oldest houses in the region that are made in traditional architecture. The water is the purest blue you would ever see and absolutely unpolluted.Pickup will be done by private cab back to the resortTrek to Patal Bhuvaneshwar caves 12 km one way. These are mythological caves where some of our saints meditated. There are stalactite and stalagmite formations which are revered by the locals as representation of Gods and Goddesses. The place is very significant for Hindu devotees and spiritualists. There are a couple of ways to reach this place. If you are fond of trekking then you can go there on foot (15 kms one way) through some amazingly dense old oak forests and a couple of villages. Pickup will be done by private cab back to the resort
Day 9: Jhaltola – Kathgodam = Delhi ( By Overnight Train 2040 / 0355 + 01 )
Morning checkout from your hotel and then drive to Kathgodam. On arrival at Kathgodam board your overnight train for Delhi. Overnight is on board
Day 10: Arrive Delhi & Depart
Arrive at Delhi Railway station and you will be transferred to your hotel for fresh and change. Later in time you will be transferred to Delhi Airport to board the flight for onwards journey. Tour EndsTrip ends.
