Day 1: ARRIVE CHENNAI AND DRIVE TO MAHABALIPURAM

Day 4: PONDICHERRY TO TANJORE

On day 4 of South India Temple tour checkout and drive to Tanjore capital of Chola Kingdom which dates back from 10th Century till 14th Century AD. Visit Brihadeshwara Temple constructed in 11th Century by Chola King. Brihadeshwara temple is capped by sole granite stone which weighs near about 80 tons, and was taken atop by 6 km long ramp, the same technique which was used by Egyptians to built pyramids. Day 5: TANJORE TO CHETTINAD ON THE WAY VISIT TRICHY

On day 5 of South India Temple tour drive to Chettinad and on the way have a stopover at Trichy. Visit famous rock cut architectural temples as Rock Fort Temple located at the banks of river Kavery. The Rock fort temple is located on rocky part and has 100 pillar hall dedicated to Lord Shiva. Also visit Sri Rangnathaswamy Temple at Srirangam dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is the second largest temple of Lord Vishnu after Angkor Vat temple in Cambodia. Later continue your drive to Chettinad in South India tour for your overnight stay.


Day 6: CHETTINAD TO MADURAI

On day 6 of South India Temple tour visit Chettinad, home of Chettiars and there abodes or mini high walled forts were built more than 100 years ago, furnished with finest woods, imported furniture, paintings and craftsmanship. Day 7: MADURAI TO CHENNAI (BY FLIGHT & DEPART)

In the morning have Madurai city tour visiting world famous Meenakshi Sunderashwar Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses 14 Gopurams or towers plus two golden Gopurams for main divinities. The 1000 carved pillars temple is considered important and is maintained by Government body Archaeological Survey of India. Each pillar is a monument and is carved with Dravadian sculpture. In the temple complex there are some musical pillars, when stroked they generate a different musical note. Later drive to Madurai airport to board the flight for Chennai.
