Day 1 Mumbai

On arrival at Mumbai airdrome you will be met and will be transferred to your hotel. Refresh and relax. Later there will be a city tour of India’s financial hub Mumbai. Visit Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India - a place in the past from where the people from the west came to India. Overnight stay in Mumbai.


Day 2 Mumbai

Morning after light meal drive to visit the World heritage site – Elephanta Caves These caves characterize elegantly engraved rock temples dates back to 6th century A.D which are devoted to Lord Shiva. The ramparts of these caves illustrate images of Lord Shiva in many patterns such as - creator, protector and destroyer. Later return back to your hotel for overnight stay.


Day 3 Mumbai to Aurangabad- (By air travel) - Ajanta Caves

Morning board the flight for Aurangabad. On arrival check in at your hotel and relax. Later drive to visit Ajanta Caves. Ajanta caves are rock-cut caves existing from the second century BC, including paintings and sculpture which are work of art of both Buddhist art and universal illustrative art. There are 30 caves in Ajanta of which some are chaitya-grihas and the remaining are monasteries. The painting demonstrates spiritual power and centre around Buddha, Bodhisattvas, events from the life of Buddha and the Jatakas. The pictures are implemented on a ground of mud-plaster in the tempera method. After wards drive to hotel for your overnight stay.


Day 4 Aurangabad to Ellora Caves to Bhopal (By overnight train)

After breakfast leave for seeing the sights of Ellora Caves. Ellora Caves also embraces the merit of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ellora Caves symbolizes the chief religion, namely Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. Presently there is a sum of 34 monasteries and temples at Ellora, belongs to three different religions. Caves replicate tantric manipulation in their iconography and architectural drawing. The nine caves involve of Buddhist monasteries or Viharas. Later board your train for Bhopal. Overnight on board.


Day 5 Bhopal to Bhimbetka to Sanchi

On arrival, check in at your hotel. Later drive to Bhimbetka. Bhimbetka caves are surrounded by the northern limits of Vindhya mountain Range. The name 'Bhim-bet-ka' means 'where Bhim sat down'. There are more than 600 caves in Bhimbetka. It took 16 years to unearth the entire vicinity covered by these caves. Bhimbetka caves had been used as asylum by people from the earliest of periods. Here you will find paintings of all ages starting from Paleolithic age to medieval age. As the time passed, the paintings became smaller, shapely and more precise. The oldest painting here is said to be around 12,000 years old, whereas the most recent is around 1000 years old. Later drive to explore Sanchi - the existing example of visualization and beliefs of Emperor Ashoka. It is dotted with many Buddhist structures like pillars and stupas. Also visit the archaeological museum where it shows the famous image of four lions that once sat atop the Ashoka Pillar. Overnight in the hotel.


Day 6 Bhopal to Agra (By super fast train)

Morning will be at leisure. Later in the afternoon check out from your hotel and board the train for Agra. On arrival at Agra, check in at your hotel for your overnight stay.


Day 7 Agra to Varanasi (By overnight train)

View the beautiful Taj Mahal at the time of sunrise. You will see Taj Mahal changing its pulsating colours at crack of the dawn. Taj Mahal – a part of seven wonders of the world which was constructed by 22,000 men and women and giving them livelihood for more then 17 years for creating mausoleum of Shah Jahan's beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Later visit the Agra Fort which was built by Akbar. This fort is built along the river Yamuna with several buildings inside. Till today part of the fort is still used by Indian Army which is not open for public. Though in the fort there are many places where you can get an insight of Mughals livelihood.Continue your sightseeing by visiting famous Tomb of Itamad-ud-Daula created by Noorjehan in remembrance of her father. Later board your train for Varanasi. Overnight on board.


Day 8 Varanasi

On arrival at Varanasi Railway station, you will be transferred to your hotel. Refresh and relax. Later there will be Sarnath excursion tour where Lord Buddha gave her first sermon speech to the world. On reaching Sarnath visit Dhamekh Stupa, Archeological Museum and Ashoka Pillar which was constructed in 3rd century Before Christ (B.C) erected with 4 lions on it. This 4 lion is now the insignia of Government of India. Soon after touring all these places return for Varanasi city tour for visit temple of Durga Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga, This temple is also known as Monkey temple as you can see high density of monkeys in the temple grounds. In the evening watch the Aarti of the holy river Ganges.


Day 9 Varanasi to Bodhgaya (By surface drive)

At the crack of the dawn have boat ride in the holy river Ganges, full of pilgrims who are continuing to do there hundred years old traditions. While on boat you may see the cremation commemoration of dead bodies as per Hindu solemnity. Later leave for Bodhgaya. On arrival visit the Peepul tree where Buddha achieved enlightenment some 2500 years back. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.


Day 10: In Bodhgaya

After breakfast go to seeing the sights of Bodhgaya, visit Mahabodhi Temple - illustrating the a variety of chapters of Buddha's passage towards enlightenment, showing different facet of his life; Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum - abode a small collection of Buddhist statuette from the 1st century B.C, to the 11th century A.D


Day 11: Bodhgaya to Patna to Delhi (By air travel)

After breakfast leave for Patna. Enroute visit Nalnada (14 kms from Rajgir) which was one of the oldest Universities of the world. Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavira have also trained here. Nalanda is a part of the Buddhist route & a hub of Buddhist education; Rajgir which means 'house of the king' was the very old capital city of the Magadha kings till 5th century. Rajgir is an significant Buddhist pilgrimage location because Buddha spend 12 years here. Later drive to Patna to board flight for Delhi. On arrival at Delhi transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.


Day 12: Delhi

Morning city tour of Old & New Delhi visiting the imperial Red Fort, a phenomenon in red sedimentary rock, Jama Masjid which is one of the gigantic mosque in Asia, both constructed by emperor Shah Jahan, and visit Rajghat - which is built to give tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Continue your visit to New Delhi which has Presidents House -once the home of British delegates. Also drive past through India Gate, a memento raised in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; Humayun's Tomb - world heritage site and lastly Qutub Minar, created by Qutub-ud-din Aibek. Overnight stay in Delhi.
