Indian Forts Tour
Duration:- 13 Nights - 14 Days
Destinations Covered:- Delhi > Agra > Jaipur > Mandawa > Bikaner > Jaisalmer > Jodhpur > Udaipur > Gwalior > Agra > Delhi
Day 1 Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airdrome you will by a representative of Indian Forts tour and will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay is in Delhi Accommodation.
Day 2 Delhi
Morning city tour starts with Old Delhi tour visiting the imperial Red Fort, a phenomenon in red sedimentary rock, Jama Masjid which is one of the gigantic mosques in Asia, both constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan, Continue your visit to New Delhi which has Presidents House -once the home of British delegates. Also drive past through India Gate, a memento raised in honor of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; Humayun's Tomb - world heritage site and lastly Qutub Minar, created by Qutub-ud-din Aibek.
Day 3 Delhi to Jaipur (Distance 265 km 4.5 hrs drive)
After breakfast in the morning drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Evening is free to visit the famed markets of Jaipur which are well known for handicrafts, jewellery etc.
Day 4 Jaipur
In the morning visit Amber fort where you will experience the Elephant ride to visit Amber Palace. Later visitation continues to Observatory (Jantar Mantar) which is one of the biggest observatories constructed by Sawai Jai Singh. Also visit City Palace which is famous for Rajasthani style and architecture, and have photo shoot stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Return back to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 5 Jaipur to Mandawa (Distance 170 Km 3 hrs drive)
Morning leave for Mandawa which is one of the most famous town of Shehkhawati regions famed for its frescoes paintings and havelis. The merchant families constructed colourful havelis with frescoes and paintings demonstrating Rajput legacy of Rajasthan. Explore “Rajasthan forts” Mandawa fort which was built by the descendants of Nawal Singh, the Shekhawati ruler. Overnight in Mandawa.
Day 6: Mandawa to Bikaner
In the morning drive to Bikaner, famous for its Camel Breeding Farm, Junagarh “Fort” which has never been captured, stunning Lalgarh Palace a combination of Mughal and Rajput manner. Other attractions of Bikaner are Deshnok Temple and Gajner Palace. Overnight stay in Bikaner.
Day 7 Bikaner to Jaisalmer
In the morning drive to Jaisalmer, where you will find living fort of India known as Sonar Quila or Jaisalmer “India Forts”. On arrival at Jaisalmer, check in at your Jaisalmer accommodation formalities. No movements are planned for this day. Spend the day enjoying hotel amenities or exploring the city on your own. Overnight is in Jaisalmer.
Day 8 Jaisalmer
After sumptuous breakfast visitation continues to cover Jaisalmer Fort - erected on the uppermost peak of the Tricuta hill, consisting of 99 defenders. Exceptional features are Megh Durbar & different temples, Salim Singh-Ki-Haveli & Patwon-Ki-Haveli - some of the beautiful houses with stone figurine and latticework of breath taking intricacy. Evening is to enjoy camel ride at sam sand dunes in Jaisalmer. Later return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 9 Jaisalmer to Jodhpur
On day 9 of India forts tour, drive to Jodhpur. On arrival visit Clock Tower and Ummeid Bhawan “Palaces” which presently functions as a hotel and palace. Continue your visitation to Jaswant Thadaa white marble commemorative built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. In the dusk you may opt to feast at on the rocks an open garden restaurant serving ethnic food with live music and folk dance show Overnight at Jodhpur.
Day 10 Jodhpur to Ranakpur to Udaipur
On your onset at Jodhpur visit one of the famous “forts of Rajasthan” known as Meharangarh Fort which is still invincible. This fort is located at an elevation of 125 meters and is stretched in the area of 5 sq/ km, with 7 gates in the fort. After wards leave for Udaipur. Enroute visit Ranakpur, famous for Jain temples, built in 12th century. This temple is built of marbles 108 impressed marble pillars, each different from others performing a marvelous architecture of Jainism. On arrival at Udaipur you will be transfer to your hotel. Refresh and relax. Evening is free to roam in narrow lanes of Udaipur City.
Day 11 Udaipur to Gwalior (By overnight train)
In the morning visit City Palace which commands a view of Lake Pichola. The City Palace consists of Palace Museum, Durbar Hall, Crystal Gallery and Jagdish Temple. Continue your visitation to Saheli Ki Bari which was built for Royal Ladies of Udaipur. Later late evening board your train for Gwalior.
Day 12 Gwalior
On arrival at Gwalior station you will be transferred to your Gwalior hotel. After relaxation visit Gwalior Fort. Gwalior Forts past goes back to 2000 years, with rock messages from the 5th century still to be found. While going to fort you surpass 21 Jain statuette carved out of the rock. These sculptures are of between 8th and 15th centuries. In the fort visit 8th century AD Suraj Kund, Teli ka Mandir, most excellent --Man Mandir Palace. Other buildings in the fort are Jai Vilas Palace and Museum having heaviest chandeliers in the Durbar Hall, and a crystal staircase. The dining table is fixed with electric train which is made of silver which carried brandy and cigars around the table after dinner. Thirty five rooms have been transformed into a museum filled with family’s memorabilia.
Day 13: Gwalior to Agra (By train)
After late breakfast check out from your hotel and drive to board the train for Agra. On arrival at Agra, check in at your hotel. Later visit “fort in Agra”, built by Akbar. This fort is built along the river Yamuna with several buildings inside. Till today part of the fort is still used by Indian Army which is not open for public. Though in the fort there are many places where you can get an insight of Mughals livelihood.
Day 14: Agra to Delhi (distance 205 km 3.5 hrs drive)
Today is the last day of India forts tour where you will visit the beautiful Taj Mahal at the time of sunrise. You will see Taj Mahal changing its pulsating colours at crack of the dawn. Taj Mahal ? a part of seven wonders of the world which was constructed by 22,000 men and women and giving them livelihood for more then 17 years for creating mausoleum of Shah Jahan's beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Continue your sightseeing by visiting famous Tomb of Itamad-ud-Daula created by Noorjehan in remembrance of her father. Later drive to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi you will be transferred to Delhi airport for your flight to onwards journey. Tour concludes.
