Andhra Pradesh Buddha Tour
Duration:- 10 Nights - 11 Days
Destinations Covered:- HYDERABAD > SRISALAM > NAGARJUNA SAGAR > VIJAYAWADA / GUNTUPALLI / VIZAG
Day 1: ARRIVE HYDERABAD
Arrival at Hyderabad airport and you will be assisted with Andhra Pradesh Buddha tour representative and will be transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay in Hyderabad.
Day 2: IN HYDERABAD
Day 02 of Andhra Pradesh Buddha tour visit Anandha Vihara which is the grand existing Andhra Pradesh temple dedicated to Lord Buddha & inaugurated by Dalai Lama. Later visit the grand monolith statue of Lord Buddha at Buddha Purnima through a boat ride in the Husain Sagar lake Spend in your night in Hyderabad.
Day 3: HYDERABAD
After breakfast visit Chilkur Balaji temple, Andhra Pradesh temple of Lord Sri Venkateshwara also commonly called "Visa Balaji". Afterward visit Golkonda Fort & the Royal Tombs of the Qutb Shahi Kings. Overnight stay is in Hyderabad.
Day 4: HYDERABAD / SRISALAM (235 KM / 04 HRS)
On day 4 of Andhra Pradesh Buddha Tour drive to Srisailam. On arrival, check into the hotel of Srisalam. Continue your visit of Mallikarjuna temple which is one of the Twelve Jyotir lingam temples of India. Night is in Srisalam.
Day 5: SRISALAM – NAGARJUNA SAGAR (170 KM)
Day 05 of Andhra Pradesh Buddha Tour is for Nagarjuna Sagar. On arrival, check into hotel of Nagarjuna Sagar. Explore Nagarjuna-konda, Anupu the amphitheatre and the more Buddhist remains. Night stay is Nagarjuna Sagar.
Day 6: NAGARJUNA SAGAR - VIJAYAWADA
After luscious breakfast depart by surface to Vijayawada. On arrival, check in at your hotel. In the evening have an excursion of Kondapali village which is famous for the unique wooden toys. Also visit an Andhra Pradesh ancient living temple. Overnight stay in Vijayawada.
Day 7: IN VIJAYAWADA
Morning visit Amaravati
Amaravathi is an exclusive locality for the opening, as it proffers a return to the home of the Kalachakra Tantra, at Andhra Pradesh most respected Buddha pilgrimage site, inside the rustic tiredness of Amaravathi village in Andhra Pradesh.
Carry on your visit to the imposing Maha Stupa & museum, the ancient Amralingeshwara temple. Overnight stay in Vijayawada.
Day 8: VIJAYAWADA / GUNTUPALLI / VIZAG
Morning checkout and drive to Vizag. On the way visit Guntupalli.
In Guntupalli you will find rock cut chaityas, Stupas, Viharas, numerous images of the Buddha. All these Buddhist reserves are whispered to pre date even the world famous Ajanta and Ellora caves of Maharashtra. Note the impressive 6 ft marble statues of Lord Buddha. Moreover it is alleged that great Buddhist theorist, Dignaga made this place as his home for short time during his life. Drive to Vizag for your overnight stay. Overnight stay is in Vizag.
Day 9: IN VIZAG
After breakfast explore Sankaram for its abundant rows of monolith votive stupas with imagery of Lord Buddha. After lunch visit Salihudam – a fascinating swastika twisted entrance with a 46 ft diameter Stupa & Buddhist platform. From here the Buddhism was spread to far eastern countries. Overnight stay is in Vizag.
Day 10: IN VIZAG
On day 10 of Andhra Pradesh Buddha tour visit Bavikonda which is the main ancient site of the Buddhist with the remnants of the holy Buddha, a mahachaitya containing silver and gold relic caskets, further a large vihara complex, stupas later explore thotlakonda for Vihara / Chaityagrihas & Stupas stuccos dating to 03rd century AD. After lunch stopover will be at Pavuralakonda for the ascetic remains & the 14 rock cisterns used by monks for rain water collecting.
Overnight stay is in Vizag.
Day 11: VIZAG DEPART
Morning check out from the hotel and drive to Vizag airport to board the flight for onwards journey. Tour concludes with happy memories of Andhra Pradesh BuddhaTour.
